Summer is the season of makeovers, and the easiest way to make a quick and dramatic change is by coloring your hair. Next time you’re looking for inspiration for your next coif color, take a cue from JLo, Beyonce, Rihanna and other leading songstresses. As befitting trendsetters, these divas are always on point with their caramel highlights, honey hues and bold reds.
The trick to making one of these vibrant shades work for you is to stay within your color family. That means, if your skin is fair, stick with cool tones (often labeled “Ash”). Those with olive or dark skin will find warm tones more flattering (usually called “Golden”). A word of caution: changing your hair color more than two shades can take a toll on tresses. Be sure to use a weekly conditioning mask to keep your hair healthy and your color vibrant.
