Hair Trend: Swoopy Bangs

By Anne L. Fritz

Ask any hairstylist what the most flattering style is for your bangs, and he or she will most likely say the swoopy bang. Why? It’s much easier to style and maintain than the blunt cut, which needs to be blown out completely straight and requires frequent trims.

Swoopy bangs flatter most face shapes -- especially oval and square -- and work with curly, wavy or slightly wavy hair. They can be blown out with a round brush for volume and left to air-dry for a shaggy, natural look, or pulled back with barrettes into a half-up, half-down style. They’re also less of a commitment, as they can be worn longer and won’t take as long to grow out when you’re tired of them.

Not sold yet? One of the biggest pluses of swoopy bangs is that they’re ultra-sexy. Wear them with a deep side-part to cover part of one eye, like a latter-day silver-screen goddess. They’re practically begging for Mr. Right to sweep them back off your face and bend you back into a deep kiss!
