When you want to amp up the glamour quotient of any hairstyle, try this 30-second celebrity cheat and move your part over an inch or two to the side. A deep side part that is in line with the middle or outer edge of your eye creates a look that’s insta-sex-kitten: think classic Marilyn Monroe (or the countless starlets who have paid tribute to her throughout the years) with her platinum curls.
For that timeless pinup girl look, break out the hot rollers and the hairspray -- you’ll want lots of volume and wave. A deep side part also looks hot with a teased half-up, half-down style, like the one that Carrie Underwood rocked at the 2009 CMA Awards, a curly updo a la Taylor Swift also at the 2009 CMA Awards, or a sleek and straight ’do, like the hairstyle that garnered Sandra Bullock so much attention at the 2010 Academy Awards.
Bonus tip: To get more volume at the crown, angle the part from a deep side part in the front to one that hits closer to the center of your head at the back.
