Flaunting Your Freckles

By Jenna Mahoney

As summer winds down and your sun-kissed skin fades, you’re likely to have one lasting reminder of your tan: a fresh face of freckles. There’s just something about the tiny spots that says healthy, carefree and naturally pretty. Beach-loving Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen and Ibiza island mainstay actress Sienna Miller flaunt their freckles on bronzed skin. Even alabaster-toned Chloe Sevigny embraces the sweet spots.

To make the most of your late-summer glow, apply a lightweight tinted moisturizer; anything heavier will camouflage the skin-kissed spots. Skip the deeply pigmented cream blushes and stains, and opt for a translucent powder to allow your freckles to be seen. Keep eye makeup at a minimum and slick on a peach-infused lip gloss for an effortless and natural look.

Don’t forget that although freckles imply a healthy glow, it’s imperative to use sun protection. Slather on an SPF of at least 30 if you spend any time outdoors. Office workers should be fine with an application of SPF-packed tinted moisturizer.
