How to Get Bold Brows

By Jenna Mahoney

Move over thin -- you’re no longer in, especially when it comes to brows this season. From Prada and Gucci to Calvin Klein and The Row, models strutted down the runways with Brooke Shields-esque strong eyebrows. And super-stylish red carpet regulars Penelope Cruz and Diane Kruger have also been going bold.

If you weren’t born with naturally bushy brows, here’s how to groom yours:

  • Since the look is a heavy, retro brow with classic arch, you’ll want to keep your brows full. When it’s time to groom, arch the brows, keeping an even thickness throughout. The highest point should be just above your iris.
  • When creating shape, keep this in mind: The rounder your face, the more arch you can manage. Ladies with longer faces should opt for more horizontally formed brows. For the strongest brow, avoid overtweezing near the eye.
  • Overplucked? Fill in areas with a brow gel or pencil two shades lighter than your brow color to keep the look natural.
